Senior on course for another EuroPro Tour win

JACK Senior and Stiggy Hodgson share a two-stroke lead going into today’s final round of the Kerry London Championship at Burhill Golf Club.

The 2011 Walker Cup team-mates are eight under par after the first two rounds of the PGA EuroPro Tour event in Surrey.

Former Lancashire County player and Lytham Trophy winner Senior, from Heysham, already has a first and second-place finish to his name after just three events of the  season, and is closing in on a Challenge Tour card for 2015, awarded to the top five golfers on the Tour’s Order of Merit.

He played himself into contention for his second £10,000 winner’s prize of the season with a 68 on day two on Burhill’s New Course, matching the four-under-par he achieved on Thursday.

Hodgson, who grew up in Cheshire before moving south and is attached to  Wisley, signed for a 67 to thanks in large part to a fantastic first nine. He began his second round on the tenth tee and shot five birdies and one bogey to turn home four under, adding a fifth birdie at the third.
