Wardrop extends his Alliance lead

STOCKPORT assistant Danny Wardrop extended his lead in the Manchester Alliance Order of Merit after finishing with a share of top spot in the individual pro section posting 39 points with Ellesmere’s Anthony Millar as the season reached its half-way stage.

Bramall Park assistant Liam Burgess found a great partner in club colleague Chris Jackson who boosted Liam’s individual score of 33 points to 45 points.

In the cpo it just edged out Kris Andrews and Mark Davin (Ashton-on-Mersey) and Tony Stevens and sponsor Lewis Nunn (Davenport).

Also in the prizes in the pro-am were Hart Common’s Kevin Parry and Shaun Kelly on 44 and Danny Wardrop with his dad Mike (Didsbury) 43.

Home duo Charles Herbert and Ross Birch were on fire in the am-am section carding 46 points to finish ahead of Danny Fox and Steve Finnan (Stamford) 44 and Leigh’s Dave Rowland and Shaun Bate 43.

Meanwhile,  Sean Bailey ( Drivetime ) and Mark Williams ( Formby Hall)  won the Liverpool Open at Formby Ladies with  78 points.
