The 18-year-old has already sampled the game at a higher level when he was invited to compete as an amateur in the National Bank of Oman Classic on the Challenge Tour last autumn.

He has linked up at ISM with fellow former Lancashire players Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Nixon in addition to world stars Lee Westwood  and Open champions Louis Oosthuizen and Darren Clarke, the 2016 Ryder Cup captain.

McCullen, who lives in Sale,  is attached to Delamere Forest but  opted to play for Lancashire. He created history in 2013 when he won both the county men’s and boy championships.

Chandler, one of the world’s most successful player managers who also represented Lancashire between 1970-74, said: “He will play in a few junior and EuroPro tour events and then the European Challenge Tour before going for his tour card later in the year. He’s a great pospect.”

McCullen, who won the prestigious McEvoy Trophy last year, regularly represented England throughout the youth age groups and is looking forward to his first taste of the pro game.
