Cranfield bowls them over

REECE Cranfield leapfrogged to the top of the the Galvin Green Northern Order of Merit when he won the Southport & Ainsdale Bowl.

The plus one ranked player from Wigan opened with a six-over-par 77 for a four-way share the lead as a strong whipped across the course.

Conditions were only slightly less testing in the afternoon when he posted level par 71, three birdies cancelling out as many bogeys.
