Matt wins Lancs Boys’ title in storming finish

MATTHEW Kay stormed to the Lancashire Boys’ Championship at wind-swept Leyland thanks to an impressive second round two-under-par 68 which included four birdies from the ninth hole he reached without a blemish on his card.

Tagged to his opening 77, the three handicapper at Manchester Golf Club was five-over-par in total as he prevailed by three strokes from Shaw Hill’s Lewis Boyle and defending champion Oliver Clarke, an England boys’ player from Hillside.
