Emily’s head girl in junior contest

TERRIFIC 10-year-old Emily James has won the girls’ handicap competition at the  North of England Under-14 Championship at Durham club South Moor.

The 19 handicap Rossendale junior scored nett rounds of 74, 69 and 68 for an eight–under-par total.

After lying third after the second day, she stormed to victory with a five-under final round which included four gross pars and a birdie.

Emily, coached by Jane Forrest, is also a member of Royal Lytham & St Annes.

At the end of the month goes to St Andrews to compete in the finals of the Wee Wonders Open.
