Seventh heaven! Manchester Alliance back in action

THE Manchester Alliance swung back into action after and unprecedented run of seven successive cancellations. But the scheduled event at Birchwood was switched to Prestwich due to the weather and it only went ahead thanks to the host club’s volunteers who kept water off the greens.

Hart Common’s Steve Parry claimed the honours in the pro section with 40 points, two clear of Ringway’s Ollie Pantoja  and Chilli Dip’s Craig Corrigan.

Pantoja and his Stand partner Charles Rogers won the pro-am with 46 points on countback from Corrigan who was coupled with Wigan’s Phil Cooney.

Stamford duo Paul Traynor and Gary Foster were on their way to play the Belfry they got a call that the course was closed. They turned back and headed for Prestwich where they amassed 44 points to win the am-am!
