Hamerton nails Manchester Alliance prize

GRANT Hamerton called the shots in the Manchester Alliance at Bolton Old Links with an impressive 43 points at a club celebrating its 125th anniversary.

The Pike Fold professional, a former European Tour player, held off a challenge from Chorlton’s  Adam Hodkinson and Ringway-attached  David Brunton who pulled up a point short.

The host club claimed the team prize, thanks to assistant pro  Colin Maroney, Andy Fletcher, Terry Martin and Mike Wallace, who amassed  92 points.
