TROPHIES galore were handed out by Manchester Alliance president John Dowd as the winter series went into cold storage after the final day of the season.

There were three major awards in addition of other prizes to play for by a full field at Withington where Mr Consistency Craig Corrigan picked up the Order of Merit Trophy – the second in his possession following his success in PGA North last season.

The teaching pro at Chilli Dip Academy in Blackrod prevailed over Hart Common’s Steve Parry and and Lymm’s Graham Cox.

Adam Hodkinson claimed the assistants’ Order of Merit, denying Andy Palmer (Chorley) and Ollie Pantoja (Ringway).

And the amateur version went to Andrew Fletcher, of Bolton Old Links, who pipped Jimmy O’Reilly (Swinton Park) and Lee Warren (Northenden).

Disley assistant Ian Ridgway shot a best-of-the-day three-under-par 68 to win the President’s Cup, his score matched by Marriott Worsley Park’s Derek Harvey who lost on a card play-off.

But he won the amateur medal for finishing two shots ahead of Len O’Hagan (Pike Fold) and Dave Hemingway (Chorley).

Top score in the Guests’ and Sponsors’ section was 72 by Disley pro Scott Jackson, beating  Steve Hindle (Marriott Worsley Park) and Vinny Doyle (Leigh) by a shot.
