“We are so pleased that all her efforts and hard work have brought Simon. She deserves it, nobody works harder,” said PGA professional Townend who is attached to Wilpshire Golf Club. “We are very proud of her.”

Brogan, who played for England as an amateur and set a course record 70 in the North Region Women’s Championship at Tytherington three years ago, shot rounds of 71 and 67 at the Firestone ‎Golf and Country Club north and south courses in Ohio to post a four-under-par total.

She returned to the United States soon after winning the Lancashire title to complete the final part a three-year course studying for a multi-disciplinary degree at San Antonio University in Texas.

She hinted then that she may decide to stay in America because she has a lot of friends there.

Meanwhile, she has a job arranged at San Antonio Golf and Country Club‎ and is hoping to go to US Tour qualifying school later in the year.
