CHORLEY assistant Andy Palmer topped the leaderboard in the Manchester Alliance at High Legh Park, racking up 42 points to finish one clear of former European Tour ace Phil Archer.
But the Birchwood man was not be denied in the pro-am as he and Wilmslow’s Roy Ainscough totted up an impressive 47 points.
And Archer also had an albatross on the 480-yard par five fifth as his tee shot his second shot found the target.
It helped to take the pair three clear of Palmer and Chorley clubmate Keith Ashton alongside and Graham Cox (Lymm) and Anton Johnson (Warrington) with pro prizes also going to Rob Batchelor (Stand) and Liam Burgess (Bramall Park) also on 44 points.
Oldham’s Dave Kendrick and Keith Ashton posted 43 points to lead the am-am from Denis Durnian (Chorley) and Keith Liddle (Blackley) who won a cpo on 42 points from Terry Gilbert (Davyhulme Park) and Marcus Corfield (William Wroe).
