WEATHER BEATERS: Alliance captain John Davies, a Sale member, congratulates Chorley’s Andy Palmer and Stephanie Patterson

CHORLEY assistant professional Andy Palmer and clubmate Stephanie Patterson defied the elements to win the Manchester Alliance Mixed Pairs Hancock Trophy at Sale.

They racked up 42 points in the better-ball stableford to prevail by one from Westhoughton duo Kieron Gaskell and Lynn Phillips who edged out Bramall Park’s Ollie Whiteley and Michelle Pretty on countback.

Home pair of Mobi Rawthore and Fiona Flanagan also won a 39-points countback in the am-am from Worsley’s Alan Hooper and Pat Jackson with another top Chorley duo of Denis and Sam Durnian who posted 38 points.
