James leads the way at Hesketh

MERE ace Jack Brooks held on to top spot in the Galvin Green Northern Order of Merit to lead the chasing pack by 75 points despite not figuring in the Henriques Trophy at Hesketh,

Ormskirk’s James Nash was the most consistent player on the day with rounds of 71 and 72, one-under all told, to tie with Royal Lytham’s Jamie Van Wyk and Bury’s Ciaran Doherty who have both clocked up winning scores this season.

Meanwhile, Romiley’s Harry Doyle is five points adrift of the leaders.
